Who we are

Seven Spirits Burning is a Dutch band, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 97175048. We are the controller responsible for the processing of personal data through this website.

You can reach us at info@sevenspiritsburning.com for any privacy-related question.

What data we collect and why

Newsletter signups

When you sign up to our newsletter, we store your email address and the page you signed up from. We use this only to send you updates about releases, tour dates and merch. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email we send, or by emailing us.

Contact form

When you send us a message through the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject and message. We only use this to respond to you. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in handling inquiries.

Orders and payments

When you place an order, we store your name, email, phone (if given), shipping address, order details and a reference to your Mollie payment. We use this to process and ship your order, handle refunds and comply with Dutch tax law. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legal retention obligations.

Server logs

Our server temporarily stores standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. Logs are rotated automatically. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

How long we keep your data

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form messages: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Orders: 7 years (Dutch tax retention obligation).
  • Server logs: rotated, typically 14 days.

Who we share data with

We only share data with processors and services that are strictly necessary to run the site:

  • Mollie B.V. (Amsterdam, NL) for processing payments. Mollie is a regulated payment institution under DNB supervision.
  • Hostinger International Ltd. (EU data center) for hosting our website and database.
  • Google LLC (YouTube) if you choose to play an embedded video. The embed is only loaded after you click the play button.
  • Spotify AB if you click through to a Spotify track or album.
  • Google LLC (Google Analytics 4), only when you explicitly opt in via the cookie preferences. We use the anonymized-IP setting and have ad personalization disabled, so Google does not use your visit for advertising profiles.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Cookies

This website uses a minimal set of cookies:

  • Essential: an authentication cookie set when signing in to the admin area (only relevant for the band), and a small preference cookie that remembers your choice on the cookie banner. These are always on because the site cannot work without them.
  • Analytics (optional, opt-in): if you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to count visits and see which pages are popular. IP addresses are anonymized and ad personalization is disabled. Off by default.
  • Third-party embeds (optional, opt-in): YouTube and Spotify set their own cookies the moment you play an embedded video. We do not load these until you opt in.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can review and change your choice at any time via .

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Request access to the data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data deleted, where applicable.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@sevenspiritsburning.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we are not handling your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

We may update this policy when the site or applicable law changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent update.
